Well Porky's Expanse continues to expand into Rogue Space!
After taking time to post a thorough review of Rogue Space, Porky has just posted a Rogue Space 40k quick conversion--and it is excellent.
I am a fan of the 40k universe and have some of the RPG books from Fantasy flight. Great resource material-but too chunky for me to run...unless I convert some stuff into a Rogue Space Trader setting? Let me know if a 40k inspired splat book is of interest...and for bonus points what specifically you think needs to be in it. Remember I have an 8 page limit...

I've replied with some ideas re law enforcement and military, and things that could spin out of that, as well as general infrastructure. I'd be very happy to chip in with more of this kind of material.
ReplyDeleteIf you went with 40K though, it would have to be material that was inspired only, in that GW is naturally very protective of its IP. That said, innovation based on the recurring concepts and tropes they and the rest of us have used over the years offers massive scope. No one owns ideas themselves.
@Porky-yes inspired by is key to what I want to present. I am thinking a Star Guard setting with home world troops and star marines. A empire with a "human supremacy" mindset. Good foils for simian stars or against other alien or robotic enemies.
ReplyDeleteIt would be great to see more of your vision and creativity with this idea! I really appreciate your creativity, skill and time in adding to the Rogue Space universe.
Well I'll certainly put some thought into it along those lines. I'm looking forward to this.
ReplyDeleteI hate you both for gettin' my mind flying with a strange Empire Of The Petal Throne/40K mash up now. >.< My poor brain can't take this.. Must get location out of head! A pox upon you both!
ReplyDeleteA few new ideas are up - use any and all you like the look of.
ReplyDelete@ Needles - If anyone's brain can take it, yours can.
@Needles...that is an EPIC MASH UP, just used duct tape to hold the old bean together.
ReplyDelete@Porky, --that is AWESOME! Man I love it! I will be snagging (and of course giving full credit to you)
I think an inspired add-on could be done this weekend
Thanks again. It's vehicles next and I'll try to get the post up before the weekend.
ReplyDeleteOn the subject of new expansions, Hereticwerks have a setting they might be willing to adapt or have you adapt for Rogue Space, Ain 4.

It's cool, cool stuff. You could drop them an email through their profile or just leave a comment and see what they think.
Thanks for the tip Porky I will check it out and request its usage.
ReplyDeleteI checked the site and AIN 4 is all published under Creative Commons, so I will rework for Rogue Space and publish a series of free booklets giving credit where it is due. Thanks for the tip!!
ReplyDeleteWe really like what you've done with Needles' stuff. If you're interested in Ain4, then by all means let us know what we can do to help out.

Pardon the newb-ness, but has anyone set-up a pocket-mod adventure before? This is not a format we're familiar with, and we'd like to learn more about it.
Doh! Just found your Pocket Full of Perils adventures. This really does look like a fun format to experiment with...
ReplyDelete@GJ...welcome aboard and yes I will send you some info on pocket mod and I will contact you about Ain4, I am very thankful to you for allowing me to Rogue Space some of your great works! Thanks again Porky for pointing out the Ain 4 works to me!
